Internships
A Learning Experience Like No Other
If you're looking to experience life in an ecovillage, Cité Écologique offers three unique internship opportunities:
Experimental passive solar aquaponic greenhouse
Educational animal farm
Permaculture orchard
🌱 Organic Farming Internship
Agricultural interns primarily assist our market gardening team with sowing, tending, and harvesting the fruits and vegetables we grow. They also have the opportunity to care for the various animals on our farm.
We welcome both newcomers to organic farming and students specializing in agriculture. If you're currently studying in this field, check with your educational institution to see if you can earn academic credit during your stay with us.
🍲 Community Kitchen & Food Preservation Internship
Kitchen interns help prepare weekday buffet-style lunches for all community members. Depending on the length of your stay and your culinary experience, responsibilities and tasks may vary.
During August, September, and October, interns can also take part in preserving our delicious garden produce. We make tomato sauce, relish, salsa, marmalade, pickles, and more—plus we freeze large quantities of vegetables for winter use.
🌿 Combined Internship (Farming & Cooking)
This hybrid program allows you to split your time between farming and cooking, with seasonal flexibility. It's an ideal option for those who want to explore different aspects of community life, work with multiple teams, and gain a broader understanding of ecovillage living.
