Collaborating Member

Who : Former interns, former active members, or former resident members

Purpose : To maintain a sense of belonging and contribute to the ecovillage.

I sow :

• Have completed an internship or lived at La Cité Écologique

• $100 per year (per adult; free for children accompanied by a member)

I reap :

• 10% discount on products from the Bio Maraîchère farm

• Participation in open celebrations (suggested voluntary contribution: $25)

• Participation in collective work bees

• Access to sports events

• Invitation to one community lunch per month

• Priority for internships or becoming an active member

Active Member

Who : Former interns or former resident members

Purpose : To explore ecovillage life over the course of one year

I sow :

• Have completed an internship or lived at La Cité Écologique

• Cover the costs associated with living in the ecovillage

• Participate in shared meals and collective work bees

• Review the documents and social agreements related to ecovillage life

I reap :

• Participation in both public and private celebrations (*except in certain spaces)

• Access to sports events

• Possibility of housing and work within the ecovillage

• Attendance at all weekday community lunches (5 days/week)

• Access to shared resource services (*with some exceptions)

• Participation in integration dinners and guidance from a mentor

• Opportunity to become a resident member

Resident Member 

Who : Active members

Purpose : To live, work, and help sustain life in the ecovillage

• Have completed the full integration process ((visit → internship → active member)

• Cover the costs associated with living in the ecovillae

• Participate in shared meals and collective work bees

• Sign the social agreements related to ecovillage life

• Maintain awareness of personal growth and stay actively involved

I reap :

• Participation in both public and private celebrations

• Access to sports events

• Housing and employment within the ecovillage

• Attendance at all weekday community lunches (5 days/week)

• Access to shared resource services

• Primary and secondary education

• Participation in member assemblies and the decision-making process
